Extended Day registration is now open for the 2016-2017 school year. You may pay the registration fee with cash, check, or credit card. Please remember that payments for Extended Day are divided into 10 equal payments. The first payment and registration must be paid on or before the first day they attend Extended Day, which starts the first day of school.
Morning Extended Day
Our morning care program runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. Parents will drop children off at the Blue House each morning. There will be a sign in sheet in the Blue House. During that time there will be a computer center, legos, drawing and coloring, an area to read quietly or work on homework. Students will also have the opportunity to purchase breakfast at 8:00 a.m. If you need to drop off your students the cost is only $100.00 per month per child (with payment of yearly registration). If it is an emergency the cost will be $20.00 per student per morning (with payment of yearly registration). This will give your child a safe and secure childcare option for the morning. Please remember that we cannot extend credit, and payment must be made when services are given.
Afternoon Extended Day
The afternoon program will begin when school is dismissed each day, 2:50 until 6:00 p.m. A variety of snacks will be provided daily at no extra cost and your child may bring their own snack from home if they prefer. Each group of students will have scheduled time to do homework. If they do not have homework, they will have an opportunity to read silently in their group. All students will have an opportunity to go outside and play each day, weather permitting. Again if you need emergency child care, the cost per child is $30.00 per day (with payment of yearly registration) Our Extended Day Program adheres to the same behavior program as our school day. Our students are learning to be leaders each and every day. Before, during and after school, students are learning to apply the 7 Habits of Happy Children (based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The Leader in Me.) We have integrated the 7 Habits and the 6 Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship at Wards Creek and this is expected at all times. We will be respectful, responsible and safe!
