Who Are School Counselors?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

School counselors are certified\/licensed educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling, making them uniquely qualified to address all students\u2019 academic, career, and social\/emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success. School counselors are employed in elementary, middle\/junior high, and high schools; in district supervisory positions; and in counselor education positions.<\/span><\/p>

WCES Financial Hardship Form<\/a><\/h3>

Haven Hospice<\/strong><\/h5>

Grief and Support Counseling<\/strong>
Haven Hospice provides individual, family, and group counseling to help anyone who is coping with grief, regardless of how the loss occurred. Throughout the year, Healing Hearts<\/a> offers spiritual care and grief support programs for those who have lost a friend, mate, mother, baby, or other family member, as well as those who will be facing the holidays after a loss<\/p>

Camp Safe Haven<\/strong>\u2014Haven Hospice hosts Camp Safe Haven for children ages 6 \u2013 12 and youth ages 13 \u2013 17. Supported by Haven staff and volunteers, children participate in fun and therapeutic activities to help them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Flagler Health and Care Connect<\/strong><\/p>

Care Connect, a community alliance, was established to connect area residents in need with available services and address social determinants of health in a coordinated way throughout all of St. Johns County. By aligning community resources into a single access point, Care Connect increases coordination and access to available resources.<\/p>

Character Counts!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

In 1998, the St. Johns County School District, along with area businesses, youth organizations, and civic groups, selected the national character education program of CHARACTER COUNTS! as a countywide initiative to instill positive character traits in our young people. Each fall during the national observance we honor area businesses that have contributed to the CHARACTER COUNTS! The effort, and in the spring, the district sponsors the annual American Youth Character Awards program to recognize high school students of good character. As adults, we are responsible for modeling appropriate behavior which has been proven as the best way to teach character in others. Several years ago, the SJCSD became the first school district in Florida to implement Pursuing Victory with Honor in all of its athletic programs. Response to Intervention (RtI\/MTSS):<\/strong><\/h5>
Florida\u2019s MTSS\/<\/div>

Response to Intervention (RtI) has been described in Florida as a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for providing high-quality instruction and intervention matched to student needs using learning rate over time and level of performance to inform instructional decisions.<\/p>

Phase 1 of implementation for Problem-solving and Response to Instruction\/Intervention, came to a close in 2011. Phase II of the statewide implementation of MTSS has emerged. Read more<\/a> about the history and future of MTSS in Florida.<\/p>

Exceptional Student Education (ESE):<\/strong><\/h5><\/div>

The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services supports school districts and others in their efforts to provide exceptional student education programs for students ages 3 – 21 who have disabilities and students who are gifted.
